Catastrophic Loss Counsel

The firm serves as Western Regional Catastrophic Loss Counsel for several major insurance companies and the Trucking Industry Defense Association where we manage pre-litigation investigations which involve wrongful death, traumatic brain injury and other significant damages claims that arise out of motor vehicle accidents, alleged product failures and construction injuries.  The firm has relationships with experts and investigators throughout California, Nevada and Arizona and we are frequently asked to assemble teams to perform often remote investigations within less than 24 hours. The firm has defended over 150 wrongful death claims and clients often ask us to evaluate catastrophic loss matters to help them to determine whether the matter should be resolved quickly or defended through trial.

Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation

The firm has considerable experience in the field of insurance coverage work and bad faith litigation, in both California and Nevada. While the firm’s work in these areas is mostly on behalf of insurance companies, we also assist our corporate and individual clients in evaluating their insurance policies and securing insurance coverage when they need it. Brian Worthington, who heads the firm’s work in these fields, not only has substantial experience in evaluating insurance coverage and handling litigation, but also teaches insurance coverage and bad faith law to both attorneys and insurance professionals.

Construction Defect

The firm has extensive experience in construction defect matters in both California and Nevada representing both general contractor/developers and subcontractors. For more than fifteen years, the attorneys of the firm have been helping their clients navigate construction defect matters, including from the beginning of the process and the procedures of California SB 800 and Nevada Chapter 40 through discovery up to, and including, trial.
